kiwi AG, Kösching
Process engineer
Tolga is a process engineer. He studied "Chemical Engineering" at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and did his master's degree in "Process Engineering with a focus on renewable energies" at the Hochschule Offenburg, Germany.
Tolga has been working in the field of "Renewable Energies" since 2008. During his studies he did research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Freiburg, Germany in the field of high temperature PEM fuel cells. In his master thesis he worked on electricity generation from geothermal energy.
Since 2011, Tolga has been working in the field of "Power-to-Gas (PtG)". As a process engineer at ETOGAS GmbH (formerly Solarfuel GmbH), he developed the world's first and largest industrial PtG plant at Audi AG in Werlte, Germany, that was successfully commissioned in 2013. In 2016, he took over the operational management of this same PtG plant at Audi egas-Betreibergesellschaft mbH.
Furthermore, he was responsible for the implementation of several lighthouse projects at the site: for the direct marketing of the green hydrogen produced, the PtG plant was expanded in 2018 with a compressor and loading station for tank trucks. In addition, a "first-of-its-kind" liquefaction plant was designed and successfully commissioned at the site in 2020-2021. This enabled the production of synthetic LNG (eLNG) for the first time in the world and to demonstrate its use in shipping. Various research projects, such as the integration of a reversible steam electrolyzer (RSOC), are also ongoing at the site, which Tolga is responsible for.
Since the PtG plant was acquired by Kiwi AG, Tolga has continued to be involved in the production and distribution of green hydrogen and synthetic fuels as technical manager and shareholder.
Tolga is convinced that hydrogen is the energy carrier of the present and future. He brings his many years of expertise in the production of green hydrogen and e-fuels to movingpower GmbH.
